How to tune the Guitar to Open C Tuning
To tune the guitar into open-C tuning, first, tune the low E string down two whole steps to C. Lower the A string down a whole step to G and the D string down a whole step to C. Leave the G string where it is, raise the B string half a step to C, and leave the high E string alone. From the low string to high, the tuning is: C G C G C E.
The video below has the exact sound each string should make for your reference. However, you should always use a chromatic electronic tuner for perfect results. I have had my share of tuner apps for android and iOS, paid and free. The best I have found is Fender Tune. It has both free and paid features. In the free version, you can choose between a variety of instruments and alternate tunings including Open C.
